Did you know that you can now bring Fido to stop and smell the roses and see the sites at The Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo?

Yes, your four-legged family members are welcome to visit the historically-inspired garden. While you’ll think you’ve taken a fancy trip to Europe with their old-world landscapes and Renaissance statuary, you’re dog’s tail will be waggin’ in delight as they take the lead and discover all kinds of smells and critters on a stroll along 10 acres of tamed and natural landscapes.

Even during the dog-days of summer, The Gardens tree-shaded paths and sound-side breezes are a great escape from the heat of the beach.

There is a small three-dollar charge but we’re pretty sure that the smells and natural elements of the gardens will be an unforgettable highlight of your dog’s Outer Banks vacation.

Keep an eye on their online calendar (www.elizabethangardens.org) for any seasonal or special events for dogs and their families.
