Are you the organizer for all 3 years?- Yes, I’ve been the organizer the last three years (2019, 2021, 2022–no 2020 swim) and there was a gap where we did not have a dog swim in the years before that. There have been previous swims.
Who were the non-profits that benefited in prior years?
- The 2019 and 2021 non-profit was Outer Banks SPCA. Last year we also did a car and dog wash at the event by donation to our swim team. Still getting pieces together on that for this year.
Do you have a count of attendees for the prior years?- We had about 50 dogs last year
Is the pool olympic size?- No, our outdoor pool is not Olympic sized, but it does have a zero depth walk in area so it’s shallow and great for the little dogs
Will there be a lifeguard on duty?- Yes, there will be lifeguards on duty
Will a Veterinarian be present?- No veterinarian on site. I have taken the red cross course in pet first aid.
Are any dog pool toys provided? or bring your own tennis balls? Please provide a list of things provided at the event, like water bowls, etc.- We have some tennis balls and frisbees, but they can bring their own toys, if they like. There’s a great area the dock diving dogs like to go running off into the pool- We have water dishes out and treats are dispensed liberally! :)
