September will bring more freedom to Dogs on the Outer Banks Beaches

September 2022 is only days away. The highly anticipated Labor Day Weekend is quickly approaching, calling an end to the main Outer Banks tourism season.

Labor Day weekend is always one of the busiest weekends of the year on the Outer Banks. Please obey all Outer Banks Leash Laws and be very mindful of traffic on Labor Day Weekend.

After Labor Day Weekend, as the weather starts to cool and the beaches become less crowded, dogs visiting Outer Banks beaches will see the leash laws relaxed in many communities. Time restrictions will change, in some cases, leash length may be extended & in other cases; dogs can play off-leash under the close supervision of the Owner. Please see  Outer Banks Leash Laws & Beach Access.

In addition, many Outer Banks Pet-Friendly Events are scheduled throughout the month of September, including  the 3rd Annual Soggy Doggy Pool Party, September 10th,2022, that benefits the Coastal Humane Society. For a current schedule of Fun Outer Banks Pet Events, please see: Outer Banks Pet Events 2022

September is a super time to schedule a vacation on the Pet-Friendly Outer Banks of North Carolina. So, gather the whole family and make plans today.
