The Rogallo Kite Festival is a three-day Kite Festival that honors Francis Rogallo, a legendary American aeronautical engineer and inventor.


Francis Melvin Rogallo was born in Sanger, CA, on January 27th, 1912 & died in Southern Shores, NC, on September 1st, 2009, at the age of 97.

                                        The Rogallo Kite Festival 

                     Friday, June 17th - Sunday, June 19th, 2022. 

                                                10 am - 4 pm


There will be kite displays and stunt kites in flight. Kite instruction will be available. In addition to kite making and more.


This Kite Festival is Fun, Free & Pet Friendly!

So mark your calendar to spend some time at Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head, NC, and Jockey's Ridge State Park for this spectacular kite flying adventure event.


Leashes must not exceed six feet in length at Jockey's Ridge State Park.


Pets must be leashed within the Town of Nags Head, NC.

Please clean up after your pet.
