The Currituck Beach Lighthouse was first lit in 1875 & still shines bright. It is 162 feet tall with 220 steps over 9 flights/landings to the top. This majestic natural brick lighthouse is distinguishable from the other painted Outer Banks lighthouses. It is also the most northern coastal North Carolina lighthouse.

Currituck Beach Lighthouse is owned and operated by Outer Banks Conservationists (OBC). The Currituck Beach Lighthouse is open daily from 9am to 5pm, mid-March through December 1, weather permitting.
Leashed dogs are welcome on the grounds of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Please do not leave pets unattended, when you enter buildings, and please clean up after your pet.
