The 2022 hurricane season is here, Hurricane Earl is churning in the Atlantic, and the effects are being felt on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Bright Red "No Swimming" flags fly from Carova to Ocracoke Island.

Dangerous Rip Current conditions are expected to last until early next week.

Ocean Rescue Units throughout the Outer Banks are in constant contact with the National Weather Service to keep everyone aware and safe.

If you see a Red Flag, please stay out of the water. In addition, please keep your pet out of the water as well.
