Red Flags are Flying on the Outer Banks again!

Red Flags are flying high along the coastline of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Lifeguards & Ocean Rescue throughout the Outer Banks have been hoisting red "No Swimming." flags to warn beachgoers of rough ocean conditions and rip currents. Other media outlets have also been spreading the word; Red Flags are Flying, and a NO Swimming Advisory is in effect.

A No Swimming Advisory is not a beach closure. The beaches of the Outer Banks are still crowded with happy beachgoers enjoying the sun, sand, shells, seagulls, and the pondering sound of the surf. 

Outer Banks lifeguards and Ocean Rescue are in constant contact with NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and will adjust flags as officially advised for public safety. 

Please stay out of the water when you see red "No Swimming" flags.

Red Flags mean High Rip Current Conditions at area Beaches!
