A Question about Kitty Hawk Dog Park

Kitty Hawk Dog Park

 Recently the Town of Kitty Hawk, NC, did some updates to its website.

On July 21st, 2022, Pampered Pets Guide called the Town of Kitty Hawk for an explanation of information posted about the Kitty Hawk Dog Park.

The question was, "Has access to the dog park in Kitty Hawk been limited to Dare County Residents and/or property owners?"

This question is based on the following text that appears on the Town of Kitty Hawk's website, in addition to the top spot of a Google search for; "Town of Kitty Hawk NC dog park" that displays the Town of Kitty Hawk text:

"The Dare County park located at 900 W. Kitty Hawk Road contains a Dog Park for the use of Dare County residents and/or property owners. The county requires that interested users fill out a registration form and show a current rabies vaccination for each of the dogs that will use the park."

The receptionist at the Town of Kitty Hawk responded, "Please Hold while I ask." The returning response was, "I am uncertain; please contact Dare County."

The Administrative Specialist at the Dare County Parks and Recreation Department was emailed the same day with the same question & asked, "Has there been a change? Can you please clarify?"

The response from the Administrative Specialist at the Dare County Parks and Recreation Department was;

-"the dog park in Kitty Hawk. It is strictly a part of the Dare County Parks and Recreation Department and is available for residents and guests of Dare County."

It is reassuring that the Kitty Hawk Dog Park rules have not changed.

Registration for the use of Kitty Hawk Dog Park is required. Please see this link for registration information: https://www.darenc.com/how-do-i-/register/for-the-kitty-hawk-dog-park

This post is a notice of information as the Town of Kitty Hawk, NC, has not made any changes in text in a period of one week regarding the Kitty Hawk Dog Park, which is, in fact, free to use by all residents and guests to Dare County.
