Friends of Felines-Cape Hatteras Island an Outer Banks non-profit


Friends of Felines-Cape Hatteras Island is a 501 (c) (3) status, all-volunteer organization, established in 2009, Dedicated to TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return).

Local feral cat colonies on Cape Hatteras Island, are cared for by the volunteers of Friends of Felines-Cape Hatteras Island.

Grants and funds are currently being sought to help control and maintain the population of feral cats on Cape Hatteras Island.

Outer Banks SPCA - Adoptable Cats & Kittens

The Outer Banks SPCA currently has Cats and Kittens up for adoption. The adoption fee for both Cats and Kittens is $50.00

The Outer Banks SPCA  (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a non profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. The Outer Banks SPCA staffs and manages the Dare County Animal Shelter. The Outer Banks SPCA was founded in 1988.

The Dare County Animal shelter has been serving the Outer Banks community since 1978. Many people remember to old location of the Dare County Animal Shelter location of 1031 Driftwood Drive, Manteo, NC 27954. 

The NEW Dare County Animal Shelter Location opened March 31, 2021.

The New Location is across the street from the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island.
You will also see the and pass the Roanoke Island Dog Park, that is located in front of the New Dare County Animal Shelter. (between the road frontage of Airport Road  and in front of the animal shelter)
