National Black Dog Day! is October 1st!

National Black Dog Day is on October 1st of each year. This is a day to promote the adoption of black dogs, in animal shelters, across the nation.

Black Dogs have a history of being overlooked at the animal shelters, due only to the color of their fur.

There are many dog breeds and mixed breed dogs with black fur. Just like people all dogs have their own personality and temperament. Please consider a Black Dog if you are planning to add a new pet to your family.

The Outer Banks SPCA and the Currituck Animal Shelter have adoptable dogs and cats, waiting for their forever homes, at the Dare County Animal Shelter & the Currituck Animal Shelter. Please visit them online at www.obxspca.org  & the Currituck Animal Shelter.

Both the Dare County Animal Shelter & the Currituck Animal Shelter list their adoptable animals with Petango.com.
