Spice girl-the pampered girl from the pound. She moved from the Dare County SPCA on Driftwood Street in Manteo to Nags Head about 8 years ago.
She used to be the fastest runner in the neighborhood and may still be, but she doesn’t try this skill out much now. She prefers the sniff as you go-walk .
On very hot & humid days, air conditioning suits her fancy. Spice also enjoys sun bathing on her back deck.
When she gets time, she walks over to Jockey’s Ridge State Park where pets are allowed to roam with their owners throughout 426 acres of the tallest living sand dune on the east coast of the United States, which is a great nature preserve .
As long as her lease is attached to her harness, she is following park rules. Sometimes she gets carried away smelling all the creatures in the park. There are scents of fox, rabbits, squirrels, all kinds of birds and some snakes. Spice just enjoys figuring out all the different smells.
One day she was walking down the boardwalk, which is only 400 ft., and at the end was a huge furry dog. She went over to see him and found out he was OB, The Pampered Pets Guide mascot.
They had a nice visit and looked at the hang gliders while they were at the end of the boardwalk.
