National Tourism Week is May 9 - May 17, 2009

This celebration is observed each year by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau & the U.S. Travel Industry Association. National Tourism Week is not just reserved for people.

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is a very pet friendly vacation destination.

Pets of all kinds (dogs, cats, birds, etc.) visit the Outer Banks of North Carolina each year.

This is the ideal time for the Pet Friendly business of the Outer Banks to promote and acknowledge the importance of tourism to our area. The Pampered Pets Guide is available at the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau & other Welcome Centers & locations throughout the Outer Banks & will provide you with information that includes area leash laws, veterinarian advice, pet friendly accommodations, pet friendly retailers, takeout and delivery restaurants and more.

The Pampered Pets Guide would like to welcome the Whole Family to the Pet Friendly Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Don't forget Pets enjoy travel too, don’t leave part of your family behind, come enjoy all the Pet Friendly Outer Banks has to offer the Whole Family.
