Bone marrow transplant on Cancer -stricken Dog

NC State Univerity College of Veterinary Medicine is the first in the Nation to offer cancer stricken pets the bone marrow transplant procedure. To date three procedures have been proformed.

WRAL.com recently wrote an article about Maverick, a six year old Weinmaraner who had a diagnoses of leukemia. Maverick was the third animal to under go the bone marrow transplant procedure at the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Happy 19th Birthday Beau!


Beau is a male neutered Long Haired Miniature Dachshund who is a true Native of Historic Roanoke Island. Beau was born on Roanoke Island, North Carolina on February 5th 1990.

Beau is an only Pet and loves his life as a loving lap dog and companion.
