The Outer Banks SPCA Operators of the Dare County Animal Shelter has announce the Volunteer Orientation for the Dare County Animal Shelter that was held for the month of July was a great success.

"About twenty adults and children enjoyed a tour of the Dare County Animal Shelter and an overview of some of the ways that we can work together to help us help the animals of Dare County."

SPCA Administrative Office at 101 Old Tom St. in downtown Manteo. 

This months Orientation is scheduled for Saturday August 22th, 2009

Join us for the Volunteer Orientation for the Outer Banks SPCA/Dare County Animal Shelter 11:00 AM until 02:00 PM at the Dare County Animal Shelter 1031 Driftwood Drive Manteo NC 27954

So mark your calendars for one week from today to have some fun, meet new friends, learn and help the homeless animals of Dare County.

The Party is Absolutely FREE to All Dogs & their Humans, and offers an island themed costume contest, refreshments, games and of course "pawgaritas" for all the Dogs!

Prizes are awarded in the costume contest for best dressed dog and best dog/owner combo.

Refreshments for both dogs & their humans are offered.

The dogs really love the "pawgaritas", which are served island style.

Currituck County Animal Shelter - Wish List

Animal Lovers Assistance League, Inc

The Animal Lovers Assistance League, Inc. operators of the Currituck County Animal Shelter, were contacted to find out the needs of the Currituck County Animal Shelter.

The Currituck County Animal Shelter is located at 204 Airport Road in Maple, NC

Current needs are as follows:

We need kitten food, dog and cat toys, dry dog food, "Adopt Me" bandanas for the dogs to wear at adaptations and in photos for the media. We are grateful for any and all donations that benefit our animals.

The Outer Banks SPCA, operators of the Dare County Animal Shelter have issued a "Wish List" for the animal shelter located at 1031 Driftwood Drive in Manteo NC

The animal shelter has almost depleted it's Newspaper supply. Please recycle your used newspapers by donating them to the Dare County Animal Shelter.

 Also the following items are always needed: Purina Puppy, Kitten, Cat, and Dog Chow Dog and Cat Toys, Chew Bones and Rawhides! Bleach, Paper Towels, Antibacterial dish soap, High Efficiency Laundry Detergent Non-scoop able cat litter and litter boxes (not covered) Blankets/towels/sheets/pillow cases Thanks in advance!
