November 22nd 2008 Ginger Sikes, President of the Animal Lovers Assistance League, Inc. and Nancy van Clief, Animal Lovers Assistance League, Inc. Board member, visited the Beaufort County Animal Shelter.

The Animal Lovers Assistance League, Inc. are the Operators of the Currituck County Animal Shelter.

The Currituck County Animal Shelter is rapidly outgrowing their small shelter, which will be bulldozed when the neighboring airport expands.

Efforts are underway to enlist the assistance of the county to build a new larger progressive 21st century shelter. Ginger & Nancy visited the Beaufort County Animal Shelter in an effort to learn more about the new architecture & operations of a new shelter.

Sandy Woolard, Chief Officer of the “Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility" in Beaufort County welcomed The Animal Lovers Assistance League, Inc. and provided a special tour of the facility. Betsy Bailey Nelson left $750,000.00 in her will to the Beaufort County Animal Control toward the construction of this new facility.
