The Pound Puppy Fair is Today!


The Pound Puppy Fair party is Today, May 1, 2009 from 5-7pm

Today is the May 2009 “First Friday Dog Party”
at Puparazzi! Pet Bow-tique on Historic Roanoke Island NC in downtown of Manteo.

This is the only event of the year with a "cover charge" - we request a donation to the Outer Banks SPCA.

The SPCA will be present with an adoptable dog to meet.

Our special guest will be Steve, a local dog trainer that is certified to administer the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. Accompanying Steve will be his dog Sable Lynn, to demonstrate obedience techniques. Refreshments will be offered for dogs & humans.

Spagetti Dinner was a Great Success!


The All You Can Eat Spagetti Dinner!for $5.00 to benefit the Currituck County Animal Shelter, that took place at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church on Hwy. 158 in Grandy, NC on Saturday, April 18,2009 from noon-5:00 PM was a Great Success.

The event had lots of pre-purchased tickets from local businesses that donated their time to sell tickets, in addition to tickets at the door.

A special Thank You goes out to area participating business and Charlotte Martin who made all of the spegetti sauce and meatballs.

The 2 nd Annual North Carolina Week for the Animals is Coming May 2-10, 2009!


North Carolina Week for the Animals is an exciting statewide event created to celebrate and joyfully build awareness for the animals.

(Raleigh, North Carolina) Animal World USA is pleased to announce that the 2 nd
Annual North Carolina Week for the Animals will kick off Saturday, May 2- Sunday,
May 10, 2009. The special week will highlight the importance that animals play in
our lives and bring communities together on behalf of the animals throughout the
great state of North Carolina.

This statewide event is designed to celebrate and build awareness on behalf of all
animals, as well as, recognize the organizations and citizens who support them. The
N.C. Week for the Animals is bringing together educators, animal shelters, rescue
organizations, sanctuaries, businesses, students, musicians, artists, community
leaders, and caring citizens in an exciting week of community-building activities.

The fun-filled week will feature awesome pet adoption festivals and events, pet
therapy in hospitals, school/art displays and activities, library story-telling and
R.E.A.D. dog activities, blessings of the animals, concerts, book signings, artists,
special magazine to celebrate the week, low cost spay and neuter opportunities,
walks for the animals, special animal law seminar and much more! All these events
will shine the spotlight on the amazing animals and compassionate people of North
Carolina who love them.

Precious lives which will be saved and communities will be transformed during this
week through a wide variety of animal-related events and activities. Special events
are being scheduled and can be viewed on the website calendar, and more are being
added regularly. We encourage all North Carolinians to become involved and create
