Doggie Easter Treat Hunt Up-Date & Photos

The very first Doggie Easter Treat Hunt sponsored by the Animal Lovers Assistance League, Inc. operators of the Currituck County Animal Shelter took place on April 4th, 2009.

It was a Great Success, with over 30 doggies in attendance.

The Doggie Easter Treat Hunt took place at the Maple Park, 204 Airport Road in Maple, NC.

Volunteers sectioned off the park in to three sections to accommodate all size doggies. Small doggie treats were hidden in the small dog section, medium doggie treats were hidden in the medium dog section and the large doggie treats were hidden in the large bread section.

As each Doggies human Mom or Dad registered them for the Easter Treat Hunt, providing their rabies vaccination certificate, so they could go on the hunt, bags were handed out to hold all the goodies they could find.

There was also an Adopt-A-Thon with four doggies present looking for their Forever Homes. The Currituck County Animal Shelter within walking distance also had the doors open to welcome people looking for an addition to their family.

One special dog was adopted during this event. He was a Saint Bernard. He was taken on the Doggie Easter Treat Hunt upon adoption. We will be doing a follow up on him soon.

There were also prizes Marina won the Best Bonnet prize and Bella won the Best Easter Outfit prize.
